Bracelet to Necklace Refashion

Did you miss me?  I spent the last two weeks in Montana and Idaho with my family.  The trip was fun and fantastic!

Today is my hubby's birthday.  I won't tell you how old he is. . . but here's a clue.  Yesterday he was a square.  Today he is a prime.

While in Idaho I went shopping with my lil sis.  Jules is a fantastic shopper and I always try to go clothes shopping when I'm around her.  She has much better taste than I do and it is very nice to have someone else to offer an opinion on my outfits.  My daughter gets tired of the responsibility.

I bought this bracelet for three bucks.

The beads are sparkly and gorgeous.  It's a basic stretch bracelet but the beads would cost more than three bucks to make it.

I wore it for a day and hated it.  I'm not much of a bracelet person and the beads poked me in weird places.  I restrung it as a necklace.

You need:

* a chain
* crimp beads
* stringing wire
* pliers

I cut the stretch cord holding the bracelet together.  I also separated a chain right in the middle to attach the beads to.

Attach your stringing wire with a crimp bead and string on your beads.  I decided to keep the original layout.

Crimp the other end of the stringing wire to the other end of the chain.

The result:

I love it!  It's perfect for dressing up the plain Ts I live in.

(A close up of the beads. . . they are gorgeous Chinese crystals.)

If I do it again:

I would buy more bracelets!  They had a TON but I don't like bracelets so I only bought two.  This turned out so well that I would love to have a few more!
