Another Refashion. . . Tank Top to Skirt!

I went on my monthly trip to Goodwill today and found the cutest tank top.

I turned it into this skirt:

The tank didn't fit her and it looked like crap on me but it was too cute to re-donate.

I started by cutting off the tank right under the arms.

I saved the cute flowers on the top. . .

I will find something to use these for!

I also took a piece of gray t-shirt material from another refashion I'm working on.  It was too short so I sewed it together.  This is to be the waist band of the skirt.

Fold in half, pin to the cut side (right sides together) and sew.

I threaded one inch elastic through the casing and it's finished!

I left the original hem at the bottom because we all know how much I enjoy sewing!

It's a bit dressier than I was hoping. . . she can't really wear it running around the neighborhood. . . but it will be really cute for church and school.  It's also very light and comfy.

If I do it again:

This was so fast and so easy!  I am now on the lookout for one to redo for me.  I'm so much taller, though, so finding one that covers the essentials and is modest may prove to be difficult!
