Flower Pot Pocket Cards

I had a huge pile of clothes that needed folding tonight so I decided to make some cards instead.  Do you blame me?

I made some of these.

The flowers slide out of the flower pot and there's a card underneath for you to write something.

Start by taking a piece of cardstock for your flowerpot.  It can be printed or not.  I used a floral print and cut mine to 4.25 inches by 6 inches.  I folded the paper in half so that it was now 4.25x3 inches.

Cut the corners off with the fold at the bottom.

And glue the flower pot together, leaving space for the pocket.

There's glue there. . . just a bit hard to see, sorry!

Add a piece of trim.  Mine is just paper that I punched out a design on.  It is only 1 1/4 inches wide.

Glue it on and trim it.

Cut a piece of cardstock to fit inside your flower pot.  Cut the width and add a few inches to the overall depth.  Mine ended up being four inches tall, three inches wide.

Trim the corners.

And glue on some flowers.  I went the lazy way and used some that I had leftover from another project.  If I wasn't lazy, I'd use my die cutter and piece together some truly awesome flowers.
Write your note and slip it into your flower pot!

You are done!  This fits into a regular Hallmark sized card envelope.  You could make it smaller with smaller flowers to fit into an A2 envelope.

If I do it again:

I will make my own flowers next time.  I was being lazy!
